Nelvana

[edit]

Should every Nelvana show that had its first Canadian run on YTV count as an original? Post Corus purchase, that is (outside of earlier shows specifically mentioned YTV in the credits). They're all Canadian productions, owned by the channel's owner and this was their first Canadian home ...

What should we do with the modern Nelvana productions? Corus seems to have stopped naming the specific channel the show was greenlit for in their end credits. You see this with Hotel Transylvania: The Series, Mysticons and The Zhu Zhus. All three have a generic "Produced in association with Corus Entertainment" badge at the end. I suspect that's because they're now running the same show across multiple channels (Mysticons debuted on YTV, reruns on Teletoon and Nickelodeon Canada, with another run on Teletoon Quebec) and don't want to make anything look out of place. These aren't work-for-hire service animation series for Nelvana, they produced every aspect, so I don't think they should be in a weird no-man's land of original branding because Corus wants to fool Canadian kids. - Damnedfan1234 (talk) 20:27, 22 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
