Thomas Grant Bohanon[1] (born September 10, 1990) is an American football fullback and special teamer who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Wake Forest. Bohanon was selected in the seventh round, 215th overall pick by the New York Jets in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Early years

Bohanon attended North Fort Myers high school in North Fort Myers, Florida. He earned all-district, all-conference and all-area honors in each of his final three years of high school.[2] He was selected as named MVP of the Carrigan All-Star Football Classic in December 2008.[2]

College career

He played college football at Wake Forest as a starting Fullback. He finished college with a total of 51 receptions, 405 receiving yards, 7 receiving touchdowns, 160 rushing yards and 3 career rushing touchdowns.[3]

Professional career

New York Jets

2013 season

He was selected in the 7th round, 215 overall pick by the New York Jets of the 2013 NFL Draft.[4][5] On May 10, 2013, He signed a four-year deal with the team. Bohanon was the starting fullback for the New York Jets during the whole 2013 season, in which they surprised many with an 8-8 record despite not making the playoffs. Bohanon finished with 17 carries for 62 yards as well as 11 receptions for 69 yards. He also returned 1 kickoff for 15 return yards. Bohanon gave the Jets a reliable receiver out of the backfield and a good short yardage back.[6]

2014 season

In Week 4 against the Detroit Lions, Bohanon suffered a broken collar bone, which required surgery, and forced him to the shelf for the remainder of the 2014 year. In 4 games of 2014, Bohanon made 3 rushing yards and 30 receiving yards.

2016 season

On September 3, 2016, Bohanon was released by the Jets as part of final roster cuts.[7]

Personal life

He is the son of Thomas and Audrey Bohanon.[2] He majored in communications at Wake Forest.[2] Bohanon is married to his high school sweetheart Katie.
