Unefon is a Mexican mobile telecommunications brand used by AT&T Mexico, a subsidiary of AT&T Inc., exclusively for prepaid services. The company was partially owned by Grupo Salinas and Mexican media group Televisa, reached more than 2.5 million subscribers in 2006 and its network was CDMA only, using no analog base stations. Starting 2010, they started to use GSM technology and started sharing Iusacell stations and network. Along with parent company AT&T Mexico conforms an approximate of 11 million users in Mexico, ahead of Mexican giants like Telcel and Movistar.
