New Taif City Arabic: مشروع الطائف الجديد or the new city of Taif is a Saudi government project aimed at establishing a new modern city. The project was launched on October 1, 2017.[1]

Taif International Airport

Its implementation is expected to be completed in 2020, and with the completion of Taif Airport, Vision 2030 will achieve its first projects in the Makkah region, with a cost of 3.137 million Saudi riyals, with an area of about 48 million square meters.[5][6]

Souk Okaz

The Souk Okaz City project comes within the initiatives of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage in the National Transformation Program approved by the Council of Ministers and allocated a budget for the project amounting to 815 million riyals. million riyals, providing more than 4,400 additional jobs, and building about 1,250 hotel rooms and 130 housing units.

Technology Oasis

The project area is 35 million square meters, and it consists of four projects:

  • An Antonov aircraft manufacturing and assembly project on an area of ​​500,000 square meters, in addition to establishing an airport for manufacturing purposes with a 3.5 km long test runway. The project is expected to be completed in 2021.
  • The project to build a solar panel production plant on an area of ​​25,000 square meters, and the plant will provide a mix of renewable energy sources with a capacity of 9.5 megawatts by 2030.
  • A project to produce electrical energy using photovoltaic and clean cells by establishing a solar power plant with a production capacity of 1 megawatt per day and reaching 30 megawatts over the next few years.
  • The high-growth feed project on an area of ​​50 thousand square meters. This feed is characterized by its consumption of limited quantities of water, the speed of its reproduction, and its high yield. Production will start in 2020.

The project costs about 590 million riyals for aviation works, and is one of the largest projects in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, as it accommodates more than 10 thousand housing units, the construction of 3,919 housing units and 6,670 residential plots developed.

industrial city

It is the first industrial city in Taif Governorate, with a total area of 11 million square meters. The first phase includes the establishment of a group of heavy, medium and light industries, a vocational training center and other uses on an area of one million square meters. The cost of the first phase is estimated at 120 million riyals.

University City

The project currently consists of 16 internal construction projects, and its construction cost is two billion riyals.
