About me

My name is Alexandrina Hadzhiyska, and I'm originally from Sofia, Bulgaria. Yes, this indeed means that аз говоря български. I'm very proud of my roots. As I was growing up, I learned a lot about the culture of Bulgaria both in school and while travelling across the country with my parents and family. I'm always thrilled when I get to answer the "Where do you come from?" question as most people I meet know very little or nothing about Bulgaria and I always embark on a little journey to change that. I would love to contribute to the community's knowledge of all the peculiar little things that originate from Bulgaria, like Ljutenica and Moussaka; the somewhat scary tradition of the Kukeri who gather in sub-zero temperatures to dance wildly in circles and scare away evil spirits; yogurt (let's talk Lactobacillus bulgaricus GLB44), and many many more. If there is anything that you would like to know about Bulgaria, please feel free to ask me in Talk.

When it comes to languages, I'm also fluent in Spanish and am very interested in Spanish literature and art (Miguel de Cervantes, Rosa Chasel, Miguel Hernández). I admire the work of Francisco de Goya y Lucientes, and especially "La maja desnuda", "La maja vestida" and "El tres de mayo de 1808 en Madrid".

I studied BSc Management with Marketing at Royal Holloway, University of London, which was recently named UK's Most Beautiful University[1]. The fairytale-like campus with the breathtaking red brick Founder's Building and state of the art study buildings[2] made RHUL (as commonly called among students) a great environment for me to pursue my Undergraduate degree. During my studies, I became fascinated by Customer Relationship Management (CRM), which became the centre of research for my Undergraduate dissertation. I examined the CRM integration at Bulgarian Telecommunication company Mtel which I was employee of for a period of 20 months. My research found that communication with customers[3] should also be considered an important factor when examining the success of a CRM implementation. The extensive research I conducted helped me build relationships with the CRM industry analysts which resulted in me taking part of initiatives like CRM Idol, and my yearly attendance of CRM Evolution[4], usually referred to as one the biggest CRM[5] conferences globally.

I currently live in Berlin, Germany, a city that captured me not only because it's one of the most celebrated and renowned capitals of Europe and is in the epicentre of Germany's political efforts[6], but also because it's Europe's capital of entrepreneurship[7]. Berlin blooms with a dynamic tech scene[8] which attracted me[9] like a magnet.

How would I like to contribute

I would like to contribute to the Wikipedia community with my knowledge of Bulgarian culture and traditions (and via supporting pages in Bulgarian); my knowledge of Spanish Literature and Art; my passion about technology companies, my knowledge and experience of CRM; and knowledge that I have gathered from living in Sofia, London and Berlin.

Please feel free to ask me anything in Talk.
