Hello friends! I'm Alexis Jared Mejía Padilla, and this is my user page under construction in Wikipedia, or more specifically the English Wikipedia (a.k.a. by me the "Domestic Wikipedia" for being the main edition of WP). I plan to edit articles on this and the other known versions of the free encyclopedia, such as: Spanish, Simple English, Portuguese, French, and so on.
In addition to Wikipedia, I have contributed to two of the Wikimedia projects: Wikidata and Wikibooks.
Who I am?[edit]
I am originally from La Piedad de Cabadas, a small town that is part of the Municipality of La Piedad, which in turn is one of the 113 that make up the state of Michoacán de Ocampo, in turn one of the thirty-one states that make up Mexico, located in the Bajío region. I was born on August 06, 2005.
How did I get started on Wikipedia?[edit]
I registered on March 14, 2020 [in the Spanish WP], and made my first edit on August 20, 2021, however, it was not until July 2023 when I started contributing to different articles. Although I must clarify that this is not the first time that I have used Wikipedia as a user, since I had previously created two accounts with which I made my first attempts, so this would be my third account in the encyclopedia. I even wrote an article about my own project called Historias de Jared Responde, one of the first attempts I made with the intention of creating an internet series, although this was not an audiovisual production like the traditional series, but rather stories told through the letters he published on the literary platform Wattpad. However, it ended up being deleted because it did not have the required references and «it had a strong smell of advertising». I also started an article about the Mexican animator Roberto "Darkar" Alatriz, known for his web series Vete a la Versh, but this was also removed for being considered an article «without encyclopedic interest».
Having learned from my previous failed experiences, I began making contributions to existing articles, making both small and large contributions, and have been learning as I go along my path as a Wikipedian. As I have progressed in my editions, the quantity has increased considerably, something that makes me feel happy, although I understand that the value of a Wikipedian is not measured by their quantity of editions but by their quality. Even so, I strive to make quality contributions, something that probably would not be the case if I had not learned those important things that Wikipedians must know if we want to make truly good contributions to articles, especially the basic five pillars. I know that they are not perfect editions, and that they probably have many errors that need to be corrected and areas of opportunity pending to be seen, but I also know that I can do things well and that I can improve little by little. Furthermore, someone has to be encouraged to edit and dare, to improve articles with what they can contribute, or in short, you have to be brave when editing!
