The Brittany international film Festival (also called Festival of Brittany) is an international film festival that takes place in Locronan (Cornouaille, France) during ten days[1].
Founded in 2021, the Festival of Brittany shows an official selection of international short and feature films every year.
Filmmakers from all continents come and take part in the competition to win the Ermine Prize, symbol of Brittany [2] , [3] .
Other prizes are awarded by geographical category (Brittany, France, Europe, World) and by specialty (Fiction, Documentary, Animation, etc. ) [4] .

When it came to creating a major film festival for Brittany, Locronan was the natural choice [5] . The town of Locronan has been a privileged filming location since the 1920s for directors from all over the world. This beautiful town is famous for its XV century architecture, highly valued by filmmakers. The picturesque aspect of the city lends itself well to historical film shoots, with little or no editing required [6] . Some thirty films have been shot there.
The Festival de Bretagne pays tribute to this history every year by screening a film shot in Locronan during the opening night. In 2022, the real sets of the film Chouans ! were reconstituted in the Festival screening room for the screening of Philippe de Broca's film. You could see the ruins of a church, large statues of saints and many weapons of the counter-revolutionary resistance [7] .
The Festival of Brittany[edit]
During ten days, Locronan lives to the rhythm of international cinema. The directors of the Official Selection flock from all over the world to come and present their film in preview in the most beautiful town of Brittany [8] . Several screenings take place every day, followed by discussions with the public. These meetings are punctuated by meals, Breton dances and grilled pig in a warm and friendly atmosphere [9] .
A camp is set up for the film crews and the volunteers of the Festival on the mountain of Locronan with a breathtaking view of the Bay of Douarnenez [10] .
