Ahead of each incoming hurricane season, forecasts from agencies around the Atlantic release predictions for what they believe the pending Atlantic hurricane season may be like based on factors such as ENSO, teleconnections and sea surface temperatures across the Atlantic. Forecaster Philip J. Klotzbach at CSU, and individual forecasters from NOAA and many others release predictions to give their insight on what they believe the pending hurricane season may shape up to be.
Storm names
[edit]The following list of names has been used for named storms that form in the North Atlantic in 2020. Retired names, if any, will be announced by the World Meteorological Organization during the joint 42nd and 44rd Sessions of the RA IV Hurricane Committee in the spring of 2022. The names not retired from this list will be used again in the 2027 season. This is the same list used in the 2015 season with the names Elsa and Julian being scheduled to be used for the first time as previously in 2015, Erika and Joaquin were retired.

Season effects
[edit]This is a table of all of the storms that have formed in the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season. It includes their duration, names, damage, and death totals. Deaths in parentheses are additional and indirect (an example of an indirect death would be a traffic accident), but were still related to that storm. Damage and deaths include totals while the storm was extratropical, a wave, or a low. All of the damage figures are in 2021 USD.
