The Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bareilly (IET ) is a state government-funded engineering college in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is affiliated with M.J.P. Rohilkhand University ( earlier known as Rohilkhand University).
History
[edit]The Government of Uttar Pradesh established the college in 1996 for imparting technical education and promoting technical research to bolster the technical strength of state. The institute is financed by the government of Uttar Pradesh and is regularly granted a high amount by University Grant Commission of India for technical education and research.
Rating
[edit]The institute recognised by All India Counsil of Technical Education (AICTE) and is given a rating of B+ by NAAC.
Courses Offered
[edit]The IET Bareilly, started in 1996, constituted the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Bareilly. Initially, it offered degree in Bechalors of Technology for the below listed six branches:
* Computer Science & Information Technology * Electronics and Communication Engineering * Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering * Mechanical Engineering * Electrical Engineering

Infrastructure
[edit]The campus of institute is located inside the colossal university campus. Each of the department has its own building and a separate administrative block for college with their own set of guards and non-teaching staff. There are three boys' hostels and one girls' hostel. All the buildings are well connected by wide properly maintained roads. The college has full power back-up with a high capacity power generator. All the building are well connected with computer network with a very high speed internet availability.
Hostels
[edit]The Institute has hostel facilities for boys and girls separately. There are three boys' and one girls' hostels . They accommodate around 1500 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Management committees consisting of elected student representatives manage them under the guidance of the college administration. All the hostels are located inside the campus itself. All the hostel rooms are spacious and well-furnished for two person each. Each hostel has its own mess which is operated by management committee. Each hostel is provided with a television, telephone, water-purifier, water-cooler and kit for indoor games and outdoor games. The hostels, also include a shop within its boundary for basic amenities. The hostel residents are expected to adhere to a set of hostel rules and regulations.

Admission
[edit]Admission to IET Bareilly is given on the basis of rank obtained by the candidate in AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). Earlier the college used to conduct its own entrance examination for the selection of students.
Culture & Fest
[edit]Yuva is the annual fest of Institute of Engineering & Technology. This includes both technical as well as cultural fest. It has got plethora of events necessary for the overall development of students. In these events many students come to participate from other colleges of country to show their mettle and set a benchmark.
Placement
[edit]The Institute has its own placement cell which proactively helps in conducting campus recruitements.
Alumni
[edit]Many of the pass-out students are working with reputed companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, IBM, Oracle, HP, Cadence, ST Microelectronics, BHEL, Nokia, Siemens, Tata Motors, SBI, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, RBS, Ranbaxy, Pfizer, ministries of Government of India and many more. They are located all across the country as well as outside the country. Alumni have proven their extended capabilities by making their way to a lots of reputed companies like few mentioned above by giving a commendable tough competition to students from all over the country in various recruitment drives.
Location
[edit]The Institute is situated at outskirt of Bareilly city along side of Pilibhit bi-pass road. From the Bareilly railway station three-wheelers and city bus (Route #3) are readily available to reach to the campus which takes around 20 to 30 minutes.
