nice change

[edit]

I like moving the episodes to another page. Plus, thanks for putting the rest. I'm in the US and came to try to figure out what I had seen and not seen, and to see if I could tell when I get to find out what is happening. ~~~~dbmor10

Novels and Books projects

[edit]

I was wondering if we could discuss how the Novels and Books projects should, co-operate more. Just for starters we seem to have shed loads of articles double tagged, and to me that doesnt make too much sense. What are your thoughts. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:29, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Ideas, (1) we could avoid "double tagging" altogether and remove "WPBook" tags if the article is a "novels scope" article - probably a bit emotive, and thus unwise. (2) we could "merge" the WPBook and NovelWikiProject templates and parameterise which project has prime scope of the article - similar problems, but might manage to completely avoid double tagging. (3) we could maintain the double tags but parameterise which has "prime" responsibility and thus takes the assessments "ownership" - might be a bit difficult to manage. Maybe some other ideas but I con't think of them quickly. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 11:56, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

getting rid of tag ofr entry for Itzik Basman

"This article is an autobiography, and may not conform to Wikipedia's NPOV policy. Please see the relevant discussion on the talk page."

I would recommend to contact http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Feydey who put this tag and ask him to suggest changes that make him content with removing the tag. Basman 14:24, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Photo deletion

[edit]

Hey there. I see you removed my CSD I5 tag from Image:Bruce perens.png and added an orfud tag. I have re-read the WP:CSD criteria and I apologise for wrongly tagging it as I failed to take account of the fact that it needs to be labelled for seven days before deletion. I was just wondering, if you have time to answer, is it possible to get that image deleted any sooner than the seven days or so before it can be done under I5? The image itself certainly doesn't satisfy fair use criteria in that it is no longer in an article, it is arguably too high resolution and a free equivalent could quite easily be acquired. Furthermore, the subject of the image (who is also the copyright holder) emailed the uploader and stated that he did not wish it to be on Wikipedia (see here and here. Also, as shown by those links, the uploader no longer wishes for the image to be here. I realise that it isn't of any great importance since the image will eventually be deleted anyway. Regards, and my apologies again for the incorrect CSD tag. Will (aka Wimt) 19:06, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

I deleted the image per the links given. Next time when doing a complicated CSD request don't write per talk page, give a diff, no one is going to read full talk pages to find the supposed data. Thanks, feydey 19:17, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah sorry about that - I'll be sure to be more specific next time. Thanks for the deletion. Will (aka Wimt) 19:20, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Newsletter and announcements template

[edit]

What I was thinking was to put together a small list of any editors aware enough of WPNovels issues and willing to contribute who I can contact when a newsletter was due and ask for input. Like now for instance. I would be thinking about now for content for the April Newsletter. I normally create it during the previous month so it can be amended in advance an when ready (very early in the month of name), it would be issued.

On the announcements, It would be nice to have someone, or more than one keep an eye on up dating the material, either when something big occurs or at least once a fortnight. What do you think. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 07:53, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

AIV note

[edit]

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! feydey 16:53, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Which was this about? - Denny 16:55, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/67.107.166.135. I reported them since they were already on their last warning, and hadn't been warned for all the stuff since. Ongoing vandalism from that IP. - Denny 16:58, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Novels Collaboration

[edit]

I noticed you have picked out the collaboration for April already in the Newsletter, which normally would be fine. However we have just had a couple of votes for The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling and one pointed out it is Henry Fielding's 300 birthday on the 22nd April, so it might be nice to go with that. I tagged Image:Burren Dolmen Ireland.jpg because it was part of an image gallery that was removed from The Burren. It's not being used anywhere else, as far as I can see. fine

[edit]

lets talk, why did u delete all my text/pics that were uploaded and given all the right tags and i have full permission to use all the pics/text found on the ttm website.

The images were deleted, because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. And please read WP:OWN, everyone has the right to edit any articles on Wikipedia. It is not proper to include opening hours and such, this is an encyclopedia not a infinite collection of data. Best, feydey 13:59, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

what's your problem

[edit]

I understand your concern over the copyright of the picture on mitt romney's page, but it was retrieved off of his own website promoting his 2008 campaign; however, you should take the time to locate a picture that is acceptable if you're going to delete one. S. Stallings 02:34, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Question on fair use rationale

[edit]

With Image:0,,1453411 4,00.jpg, are you saying that the image is being used to show that Meryl Streep appeared in the broadcast? If that's true, then the image fails the first criterion for using non-content, it can be replaced by saying she was in the cast. Jay32183 03:22, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
