Duwaine Whitfield, better known as Wittyboy, is a British Dj, record producer, remixer and songwriter. He is known for his collaboration with Alex Mills on the track Beyond Words[1] (Roll Deep Recordings) and his Dj'ing, production and remixes within the world of UK garage and house music as well as the Bassline/Niche music scene alongside producers such as TS7 and T2. Wittyboy has featured on a number of guest mixes on BBC Radio 1Xtra and receives regular airplay from the likes of DJ Target and Toddla T.
Early life[edit]
Duwaine Whitfield, known as Wittyboy is a British DJ and record producer. He was born and raised in Leeds where he was influenced by a mix of Speed Garage, Grime, Hip Hop, House and Dancehall from an early age. He began to gain support on National radio along with regular nightclub performances within the Bassline music scene across the country and Europe[2].
Music Career[edit]
After a number of successful underground releases, Wittyboy was given his first major label opportunity- remixing singer Estelle's No Substitute Love (Atlantic Records). Wittyboy continued to grow his remix portfolio working with the likes of Nitin Sawhney featuring Roxanne Tataei on his remix of Distant Dreams (Cooking Vinyl), followed by his remix of Craig David's Are You Up For This[3][4] (Ice Cream Records) and Jodie Aysha's – Pozer (Zer Zer Zer) (All Around The World Productions). Wittyboy has been featured on a number of compilations such as Nitin Sawhney - London Undersound and Instrumentals, Pure Garage Rewind Back To The Old Skool and Pure Bassline, both mixed by DJ EZ (Warner Music UK), Ministry of Sound's The Sound of Bassline series and Fabric Live 47[5][6] mixed by Toddla T. Wittyboy has been featured in numerous publications such as Vibrations Magazine[7],DJ Mag[8][9], issue 80 of RWD Magazine[10], Super Super Magazine and iDJ Magazine. His most recent track Rumours has received regular airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra[11] and festival support from the likes of Shift K3Y.
