SIMMO
[edit]From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
SIMMO or SImulation of the Music MOvement. The oscillatory movement is a code of communication which works as a transmitter of music performance information. The parameters of Music performance as Tempo, intensity, tension and character, can be defined with an oscillatory movement, which can be simulated. Web SIMMO Editor SIMMO is a concept created by the conductor Joseba Andoni Aramayo in 2006 (Ondarroa, Basque Country), and also he has created the two first SIMMO simulators of the music movement: The web SIMMO Editor, which is in the website dotconductor.com allows to design the music movement, editing the path, the time and the velocity; and Dot Conductormobile app in Apple Store and Play Store which allows to play and synchronise the simulations.
To develop the simulators, was necessary to create a music movement model and to describe with algorithms the different music situations.
The SIMMO apps have been created by Hanoi based developers company NTQ Solution (Vietnam) with the project managers To Hai Son and Hung Bui Manh.
SIMMO increases the information that shows the score. The score is a code of communication that transmits in a static way the parameters of equivalent values of time and pitch, and annotations about dynamics, articulations, musical phrases... The music movement is a code of communication that transmits in a dynamic way the real values of time, intensity, tension and character. SIMMO, transmits those parameters of the music movement using the simulation, providing the information about music parameters that the score has not. SIMMO mobile App Dot Conductor Dot Conductor mobile app has been designed to show the music movement simulation and the scores, and to synchronise the phones during the performance, making musicians of a chamber music or symphonic orchestra or choir play together following the instructions from the phone.

[edit]Purpose[edit]
[edit]SIMMO is a means of expression, a tool to express the music performance, a way to create a performance design.
The music performance edition provides music teachers with a pedagogic tool, to can create guides of music performance, making possible to transmit the music performance information not only orally, but using a previously edited simulation.
The simulation is a learning tool for conductors, allowing to design the performance parameters as a composition. The Conductors do not have their instrument that is the orchestra as violinist of flutist. The simulation allows the conductor to visualise, observe and modify the parameters of the music performance, make a design, save and share it, transmitting the information without space barriers.
SIMMO also can be used as a composition tool. Compositions based in considering each member of the orchestra as an individual, that can be conducted as an autonomous musician. Also can be used as a compositional element, where the oscillatory movement is used as the principal parameter to organise the music discurse.
New market[edit]
[edit]The SIMMO concept opens a new market: the production of the pedagogic material for the music education, and the production for music chambers.
SIMMO solve the barrier of the space to transmit the music information, and set a new personal and professional relation between the musician who edit the simulation and the musician who perform. It Makes viable the professional relation between SIMMO editors and the chamber musicians, inviting to start a new production of music performance guides. Thanks to the simulation, the music performance design of a conductor, teacher or instrumentalist can reach the chamber musicians from anywhere in the world. In a reciprocal way, the musicians can access to the music performance guides, made by different conductors, teachers, insrumentalist, composers, on the same music piece, creating a diversity of music performance sources.
Mecenas[edit]
