Ñocñocñocñocñoc.

For you, I would've done whatever[edit]

Hot stuff[edit]

Hello. I'm here.[edit]

  • Centralize WP:FDL, etc. on Meta-Wiki
  • m:User:MZMcBride/Concerns
  • File:Patricia Mills mug shot.jpg
  • The point, in case it's still getting missed, is to resist the temptation to throw a tantrum or feed others who are currently throwing a tantrum. We all get exasperated at this place and taking an occasional wikibreak is great, particularly if you're a very active user. But you can express your exasperation or take a wikibreak without being a pissy queen about it.

Yes, some people have poured a lot of free time into Wikipedia. But it's a volunteer project. Anyone is free to contribute or not contribute. That's part of who we are and we make an effort to guard against the idea that people should be treated differently because they're (for example) particularly prolific editors, even though we recognize that we often fail.

  • m:Wikinews/Worst cases — work with varnent on a similar page about political advocacy + Wikimedia...
    • never followed up to his post on his talk page :-/

None of this shit is ever going to get done...[edit]

  • Deprecate watcher tool
    • Note info action, MediaWiki API for batch lookups (or relevant open bug), and Dispenser's replacement tool
    • Relevant CSS for :target to highlight row from ?action=history
    • Kill most existing links locally where possible (in templates, etc.)
    • Implement centijimbo count locally in JavaScript?
  • Kill Preparations for Hurricane Katrina
  • Reference for using only a period in a forum or message board to indicate respect for someone who recently died?

Odds and ends[edit]

Eventually[edit]

Sooner rather than later[edit]

Blergh[edit]

Hmmm.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

  • Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2012-04-30/Paid editing — dig up previous comments about using radical transparency in order to "get away with" paid editing; so in the sunlight/spotlight that it can't possibly be wrong, right? Signpost piece is another good example of this

Generic[edit]

SCOTUS-related[edit]

Further[edit]

And even more[edit]

  • Preload magic by clicking red links from indices
    • Probably going to require JavaScript...
    • "Whoa, not quite a red link. \n Thanks for offering to start a United States Supreme Court article. We've pre-filled some of the edit window. Enjoy!"
    • Or create subpage drafts that can be moved into article namespace
  • /Reports subpage of WikiProject
    • set comparison between infobox usage, talk page tagging, and master category ("Category:United States Supreme Court cases")
    • h2 search in HTML output for certain headers
    • check leads for conciseness and uniformity (links, language, etc.)
    • check page title to infobox to lead text
  • Monitor all changes to Category:United States Supreme Court cases
    • Patrol these changes?
  • Kill Category:United States Supreme Court case articles without infoboxes
  • Kill SCOTUS parameter (for realz)
    • Make Associate Justice lists use {{flatlist}} or equivalent

Maybe[edit]

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm[edit]

If someone doesn't beat me to it[edit]

Particularly bad article leads[edit]

bettervandalism.org[edit]

  • Campaign for better vandalism
  • Encourage better vandalism
  • Main page --> steps for better vandalism
    • More link --> explain problem with simple vandalism such as "penis' insertions
  • your subtle vandalism could confuse generations of people!
  • aim for projects where nobody speaks the language
  • edit logged out or logged in? hmm
  • tool for finding small, vulnerable projects?
  • don't edit related to your life
