University Life:[edit]

After graduating from AL Arabia AL-Saeedah (مدارس العربية السعيدة) secondary school with a score of 91% in the year of 2005-2006, I used the one year gap to improve my English. Although, I wanted to join the Yemeni Army, but it was not compulsory service, and since I don't have any brother, I can't join the army at all. In 2007 I have sat for Sana'a University exam, and I have passed, which allow me to start a degree of civil engineering as option number one, or mechanical or electrical engineering as option two and three respectively. At that time, I had no clear idea about what major should I specialize with or what career to pursue. However, I managed to survive the harsh condition of the university. Therefore, I have completed two years in Sana'a University[1] in the major of civil engineering. Furthermore, on the beginning of year 2009 a Malaysian Education Fair was held in Taj Sabba Hotel (فندق تاج سبأ) in Sana'a, which I went there with my parents to explore and see another options rather than completing my degree in Sana'a University. The main reason of that, is because I was not doing well in Sana'a University, although I used to work my butt off in order to achieve high marks, but it didn't work. After that I came to realize that in Sana'a University, the management follow a system, which within five years, they will do whatever they can in order to minimize the number of students applied from 800 students to 341 which was the number or graduates who graduated from Sana'a University from my batch. Furthermore, I applied through an agency in UCSI University[2] in the field of petroleum engineering. The thing to be considered though was that one of the subjects that I learned back in Sana'a University was English Language, and one of the lessons was talking about petroleum engineering, and the teacher asked "who wants to be a petroleum engineer?" two students and I raised our hands up, and my friend next to me was surprised of my action. Another reason that made me to switch to UCSI University was that a friend of mine once told me "Man, you are studying too much, but still you don't get high marks", I responded "Yes, you are right" and then I switch to UCSI University. That period was the end of the second year final tests in Sana'a University, so I made my mind, and with God help and the support of my parents; I traveled to Malaysia and started an English course for two months, then I started the degree.
