'Jannis Barbantonis' (Greek: Γιάννης Μπαρμπαντώνης, born 24 February, 1964) is a Norwegian politician living in Norway since 1982. He started his political career 17 years old, becoming the elected President of Cholargos Lyceum (Greek (Λύκειο representing all Greek Lyceums in 1981/82.

Early Life, education[edit]

Barbantonis was educated at schools in Athens, Vestby Folkehøyskole, University of Oslo, BI Norwegian School of Management Handelshøyskolen BI, and University of La Verne in Athens. He has studied Computer Sciences, International marketing, Business & Economics and holds an Executive MBA degree.

Experience[edit]

Barbantonis has been working since 1991, as a top executive at companies Orkla Media, Telecom Scandinavia AS, Telenor, Sendit SA, Mediatext SA and now at Teletopia AS in Oslo. He is participating in several companies board of directors. Barbantonis is an active member of the conservative party Høyre, leader for Slemdal Høyre since 2009 and member of the Representatives for Oslo Høyre. Since 2009 also the president of the Greek community in Norway.

Family[edit]

Living in Oslo and married with Lillian Foss since 1987. They have to children; Nicholas Foss Barbantonis (1988-) and Maria Foss Barbantonis (1991-).
