The eleventh season of the reality game show Pinoy Big Brother, subtitled Gen (stylized as Gen 11) is set to premiere on the Kapamilya Channel and A2Z this June 2024.[1] It is expected to run for 100 days.

Development[edit]

On December 13, 2023, during the ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2023, along with the announcement of a schedule of upcoming shows set to launch by ABS-CBN in 2024, a new season of Pinoy Big Brother was officially revealed.[2] On April 17, 2024, the season's official title "Gen 11" was revealed.

During an Instagram Live session on April 6, 2024, Laurenti Dyogi, ABS-CBN's Television Production Head Unit and Head Director, announced that Star Hunt would oversee the casting process for the upcoming season, starting with auditions for Pinoy Big Brother and extending to auditions for Star Magic and aspiring P-Pop idol trainees for ages 13 years old and up (even though Dyogi mentioned a limited age range from 13 to 25 years old on his Instagram Live). The first auditions under Star Hunt will be conducted on April 27 and 28. Dyogi specified that open casting calls would be held in Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Aspiring housemates aged between 16 and 32 are eligible to audition for the show. Additionally, Dyogi confirmed the season's premiere date for June 2024 and that the season will run for 100 days during the Instagram Live session.[1][3][4]

Auditions[edit]

For the first time since Lucky Season 7, both in-person and virtual auditions will be utilized for this season. The COVID-19 pandemic in the country required the previous two seasons, Connect and Kumunity 10 to conduct their auditions exclusively online via the social networking app Kumu as part of their partnership on both seasons. However, on-site auditions will be reintroduced this season for the first time since Otso in 2019, during which Star Hunt served as the venue for the casting calls.[5][6]

For this season, there will be four open on-ground casting calls in Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Casting began on April 27 and 28 in Novaliches and Las Piñas. Additional on-ground audition venues and online auditions will be announced at a later date.

Unauthorized audition calls falsely claiming to be open casting calls for ABS-CBN shows such as Pinoy Big Brother, FPJ's Batang Quiapo, and Senior High's sequel, High Street, were widely circulated on social media. ABS-CBN issued a statement on April 16, 2024, debunking these misleading "casting calls." The public was advised to be vigilant against scammers falsely representing themselves as part of "PBB" and asking hopefuls to audition.[7][8]

Overview[edit]

[edit]

This season used the same 3D-rendered version of the graphical eye that was used in Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10.

Title card[edit]

A neon-themed background and a house with the eye logo and the series' text positioned slantingly, along with the season's subtitle "Gen 11" highlighted with neon lights and a pink outline, are the other changes made to the title card for the season. After the ABS-CBN Studios brand was rebranded from ABS-CBN Entertainment[b] in January 2024, this season is the first to use the new logo.

House[edit]

Hosts[edit]

Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, Robi Domingo, Kim Chiu, Melai Cantiveros, and Enchong Dee, collectively referred to as Pamilya ni Kuya (lit.'Big Brother's family'), will resume their hosting duties. This marks the first complete season without long-time host Toni Gonzaga-Soriano, who announced her departure from Pinoy Big Brother after sixteen years. Gonzaga-Soriano handed over her hosting duties to Gonzalez during the previous season's adult edition, and Gonzalez will continue as the main host for the rest of the previous season.

In each standard nomination round, each housemate will receive three nomination points and must distribute two and one point to two housemates of their choice. The top three (or more if there is a tie) housemates with the most nominations will be put to public vote, with the housemate who receives the fewest public votes to save being evicted from the Big Brother house.
