Misticia is a group founded in the Colombian Andes Mountains (Suacha) in 1999. Heavily influenced by indigenous Pre-Colonial Languages, Art & Music from Latin America, pioneering the mergence of indigenous folklore and metal. Misticia were among the first to combine Native, Spanish and English lyrics. Based in Germany and Spain was the first Colombian metal band to record in Europe, in 2002/2003, at the Stonehenge Studio in Bonn, Germany. The band's approach to recording comprises staying true to its roots, meaning the analog world, a course which they have maintained since their first EP Welcome to Utopia.
