Claude Choules (born 3 March 1901) is, at age 108, is the last seaman. Joined in 1916, and is the last witness to the scuttling of the fleet. He later moved to Australia in 1926 and served with Royal Australian Navy in World War II. Choules currently lives in Perth, Western Australia.
Frank Woodruff Buckles (born February 1, 1901) is, at age 108. He is the last US doughboy. Buckles was eligible for burial at Arlington as of March 19th, 2008. Buckles joined in 1917 and served as an ambulance driver near the Western Front. He was held prisoner in World War II and ate all of his meals out of a tin cup, and he still has it. Currently resides in Charles Town, West Virginia.
John Babcock (born 23 July 1900) is, at age 108, and is the last Canadian veteran. He is eligible for state funeral. Joined up in 1916 and had completed training in the UK, but did not see action due to age. Babcock late moved to the US in 1924, and he lives in Spokane, Washington.
John Campbell Ross (born 11 March 1899) is, at the age of 110, is the last Australian digger. He joined in early 1918 as a wireless operator but did not see action. Later on in World War II, Ross served in Home Guard. Australia's oldest man, and he lives in Bendigo, Victoria.
Harry Patch (born 17 June 1898) is, at the age of 110, is the last Tommy, to serve in the trenches, and to be wounded in action. He was called up for service in 1916. Patch is the last survivor of the Battle of Passchendaele. Harry resides in Wells, Somerset.
Henry William Allingham (born 6 June 1896) is, at age 112, is the last airman. He joined in 1915 as a mechanic. Allingham is the last witness to the Battle of Jutland. Currently [Europe]'s oldest man and oldest ever British man. He lives in Brighton, Sussex.
