The Wind (Korean: 더윈드; RR: Deowindeu; MR: Tŏwindŭ) is a South Korean boy group formed by With Us Entertainment. The group is composed of six members: Kim Heesoo, Thanatorn, Choi Hanbin, Park Hayuchan, An Chanwon and Jang Hyounjoon. The group debuted on May 15, 2023, with the extended play Beginning : The Wind Page.

Name

The name of the group, The Wind, contains the group's ambition to bring much-needed healing to many people like a breeze. Just as the wind changes shape with the seasons, the group brings comfort, emotion, and joy in various forms every moment.[1]

History

On March 15, 2023, With Us Entertainment announced that it would be debuting its first boy group, The Wind.[2] The members were revealed from March 16 to 22 (in order: Jang Hyounjoon,[3] Thanatorn,[4] Kim Heesoo,[5] Park Hayuchan,[6] Shin Jaewon,[7] Choi Hanbin,[8] and An Chanwon.[9] A music video for the song "Sirius" was released on April 24.[10] On May 15, the group made their debut with the release of the extended play Beginning : The Wind Page and the single "Island".[11]

On June 7, the music video for 'Summer Vacation' was released,[12] ahead of the release of the single album Ready : Summer Vacation, along with the single "We Go", on August 2.[13]

On December 6, With Us Entertainment announced that member Shin Jaewon had departed from the group due to personal reasons.[14] On January 23, 2024, it was announced that member An Chanwon would take a temporary break for activities with the group due to health issues, and would not take part in promotions for the group's upcoming EP.[15] The group released their second EP Our : Youthteen on February 14, along with the single "H! Teen".[16] Member An Chanwon returned from his hiatus on May 5.[17] The single "Sirius Part. 2" was released on May 15, to celebrate the group's one-year anniversary.[18]
