Currently I am seeking adoptees to mentor. If you're a new or relatively new user and need a hand learning about Wikipedia, drop me a message on my talk page. If you want to know what one of my previous adoptees thought of the experience, check out this page (read the "Wikipedia and Me" section and "Ratings" section).
More can be found about me, including my blog related to my OS/2 and Star Trek Phase 2 related activities (and other stuff) here: http://www.robertmauro.com/
No, I did not become an admin, but it was nonetheless a wonderful experience)
My IPs: I've rarely (only once I can recall, by accident, where I went back and re-signed it when I realized) edited from my IP after I created this account. Regardless, my edits come from a static block at work (75...10 to 75...14) and from a relatively static single home IP. Those locations are about 1/2 a mile apart, so, my logged in edits tend to jump back and forth between them (ie: during lunch breaks or dinner breaks; which I take at all sorts of odd hours). I can go from the work IPs to the home IP in less than 3 minutes. Occasionally I edit from my cell phone (random T-Mobile IP), but that is very rare since the advanced editor rarely lets me enter text on my cell.
What I do when I am around here
I originally spent much of my time here monitoring a few dozen pages (109 "originally" but currently a lot more) for obvious vandalism and reverting such. Now, I spend much of my time at Recent Changes trying to help out with obvious (and sometimes not so obvious) vandalism. Until I visited there, I didn't realize how large a task it is... so, I am glad to be able to help when I can.
For the non "much of my time" where I may actually contribute something, if I make a mistake, please feel free to let me know on the article's Talk page (or my own). Though I may not have much experience creating articles on Wikipedia, I do have a lot of experience working collaboratively on both web and video based content and am always willing to listen to others' perspectives and opinions and always very receptive to someone pointing out mistakes I may have made so I do not make them again. Though I have been contributing here for many years, up until recently, it has been as an anon only. Regardless, I'm sure I'm prone to making mistakes, just like any other human being - so let me know if I have made one.
I'm not the best at content creation (takes me too long to get the same results other editors can in a fraction of the time), but I have helped with some articles that have went up for Featured Article Review and contributed to one GoodArticle[1] with one of my former adoptees (AJona1992). He did the majority of the major expansion work, while I contributed or fixed a few citations and helped with the copy-editing and grammar.
Do I Stalk Your Talk Pages? (If so, it's intended as a compliment)
There are a few regular editors and admins who's Talk Pages (and possibly edits) I stalk. If you fit into that list, I hope you take it as a compliment.
One of the things I have learned in my other jobs (where collaboration is key) and here is that my opinion is not the community, and thus, my actions and intent should try to fit within what the community represents. I'm hoping, that by following around a bunch of established editors, I'll learn: learn more about policy, about interaction in a form that's best for the community and about similar and differing points of view.
Regardless, I always try to be respectful about any rules or requests for (talk page stalker)s each editor may have. Let me know if I am not, and how my efforts in this are perceived (if not positively).
Awards (Or: "Thanks!! Just glad I can do my part like everyone else.")

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
"may be awarded to those that show a pattern of going the extra mile to be nice, without being asked" - that describes you to a T, from what I've seen. And you recognise that "being nice" includes "showing people what they might need to do to improve", and not just "handing out the cookies". Thank you for all your hard work. bonadeacontributionstalk 07:49, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
The Adopt-a-User Barnstar
Just to recognize and thank you for your efforts in adopting and mentoring inexperienced users. It's hard and selfless work, often thankless, and it must be demotivating when it sometimes gets thrown back in your face. But overall, it really makes a big difference to the project. Much respect -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 18:59, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Me
Intro
Hello, I'm Robert. Though I've only been here with an account a relatively short period of time, I do have long-time experience in dealing with vandalism and content creation, and I've been editing or surfing here for years. Nonetheless, since I am human, like most or all of the rest of us, I will probably make some mistakes - maybe even a big one. Please stay cool and discuss it with me nicely.
Though I do not have a ton of personal info here, if you are really interested, you are more than welcome to learn more about me on the links I have provided on the left, or contact me directly on my Talk Page or via email. I reside in New York, and am an avid Star Trek TOS fan, Iron Maiden fan (and fan of any decent music of multiple genres), video game fan, sci-fi & fantasy fan and more.
