Yashovarman was the ruler of Kannauj (690 - 740 CE) in Northern India. He conquered Magadha and Benga. He defeated the Arabs and conquered North-west India. He patronised in his court the poets Vakpati and Bhavabhuti. He also sent an ambassador to China. He was defeated by Lalitaditya Muktapida.
