I grew up in a family of two children in Rome, Georgia. When I graduated from West Rome High School in 1975, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life, but I specifically didn’t want to continue my education at that time. While I decided, I chose to join the U.S. Air Force where I was trained as a Weapon Control Systems Mechanic on the F4-E aircraft. After finishing my enlistment at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina, I returned to my hometown of Rome, Georgia where I worked for a short time at the General Electric Medium Transformer Department where I was trained as a coil winder. In 1980 I went to work for the U. S. Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. While living in Warner Robins, Georgia, I went back to school and graduated from Georgia College in 1985 with a B.S. in Management. While working in the field of electronics repair and taking college courses at Robins AFB, I took the Professional and Administrative Career Exam (PACE) and was selected to train as a Contract Specialist in 1981. After finishing the training program and graduating from Georgia College, I took a job as a Contract Specialist at the CDC in Atlanta in 1986. I started dating the love of my life, Teresa, in December of 1988. I moved to Woodstock, Georgia in 1990. Teresa and I were married in 1989 and our first son, Dalton, was born in 1991. Our second son, Hunter, was born in 1992.
