ONE FM 91.3 (formerly HOT FM 91.3 before 19 January 2015, Radio 91.3 before 1 August 2012, and WKRZ 91.3 before 14 July 2006) is an English-language radio station based in Singapore. This radio station is owned by SPH Radio Pte Ltd.

This radio station operates on a 24-hour basis which plays hits predominantly from the 80s, 90s to current targets forward-thinking professionals aged 40 and above, appealing to both genders with a rising target of females,[citation needed] thus the name 'One FM'. The station's DJs include veterans Glenn Ong and Mark Van Cuylenberg (The Flying Dutchman), who have more than 20 years of experience in the radio industry.

History

[edit]

The station was initially known as WKRZ 91.3 in SPH Mediaworks and SPH UnionWorks.[citation needed] After a merger of media companies in Singapore, WKRZ 91.3 had a change in name together with sister station UFM 1003. Both of them added the word 'Radio' in front of their frequency, and that had been their names for the past decade. [citation needed]

In January 2013, popular DJs The Married Men were dropped due to content deemed inappropriate during a morning "Kena Pluck" segment during the Morning Drive Time show.[3]

In January 2015, HOT FM91.3 underwent a major revamp. It was rebranded ONE FM 91.3, with its new slogan "Real Music". The revamp is most notable for changing the station's stated genre, which was originally Contemporary Hit Radio station to one that is focused on being a Rock Music station. Since 8 August 2018, this station has revamped into full-fledged Adult Contemporary format with a new logo.

Music

[edit]

Prior to late 2017, One FM 91.3 was formerly a dance, CHR, and rock station. Since late 2017, the station has adopted a Classic hits radio format, primarily competing with Gold 905 (and to a lesser extent, Class 95).

News and current affairs

[edit]

The news and sports bulletin are provided by The Straits Times and aired hourly. The traffic updates are aired at 15-minute intervals during primetime hours (6-10am, 5-8pm), and hourly intervals for the rest of the day.

From 2005 to 2019, news, sports, weather, and traffic bulletins on 91.3 were aired at the top of the hour from 6am to 8pm on weekdays. In August 2019, the broadcast clocks were changed, the news and sports bulletin are moved slightly earlier to around 56 minutes past the hour, letting the next hour's programming start at the top of the hour, instead of 3–5 minutes past the hour previously. The weather update was moved to around 45 minutes past the hour.
