How to become a VHS President[edit]

In order to become a President of the Video Home System, one must be between the age range of ten (10) to twenty-one (21) years of age. Additionally, he have prior knowledge of the VHS format, including recording and playback of a VHS cassette and other technical aspects. The future VHS boss must have a television set connected to a VCR with a collection of ten or more VHS tapes in his former (test) residence prior to moving to the VHS Executive Tower at 17th and Market Streets in Philadelphia, PA with the rest of his extended family. The VHS President must be a naturally born legal resident of the 46 American states that sell only VHS tapes or states that sell both VHS and Betamax cassettes (The four Beta-only states do not count). The VHS President can be either be assigned to the Democratic Party or the Republican Party.

An incumbent VHS President must retire either on their 21st birthday or when a new VHS president gets inaugurated on January 5th once every two years, whichever comes first. The typical term length for VHS President is a double set of two year terms; the term length can either be broken if an incumbent President loses to a new candidate in the general election or he turns 21 years of age, whichever is sooner.

As a VHS President, he can perform all of the administrative duties of the home video cassette tape format, for example: introducing a high-definition version of VHS, called HD-VHS, green-lighting changes in the VHS tape transport mechanism, including new, tighter guide rollers and eight video heads mounted in the head drum, signing a VHS-related bill for a new or existing product in the VHS database, appointing new members of the VHS Executive, Legislative and/or Judicial branches, such as the VHS Congress, the VHS House of Representatives, the VHS Senate, the cabinet members of VHS, or the VHS Ultimate Court, and so many more.

The VHS General Election[edit]

The VHS General Election takes place on each odd-numbered year (for example: 1985 and 1987 are VHS election years) on the first Wednesday in November. Registered voters ages 8-17 can vote for any new or existing VHS home video official, Democratic or Republican, such as the VHS Boss and/or any VHS Senator, any VHS Congressperson/Assemblyperson, any VHS Representative, and even the VHS House Majority/Minority Leader. The polling place for VHS voting is the same as the real American Election polling places are. Once the VHS votes are cast on radio stations and television channels, the polls close at approximately 8:00pm. Around 11:00pm election night, if the new VHS Presidential candidate won a majority of both the popular vote and the Electoral College vote (270 electoral votes needed to win), he will gain the title “VHS President-Elect” and he will be inaugurated as a full President the following January 5th; if only the incumbent VHS boss won re-election, inauguration will NOT take place on that same date.
