"Het is een Nacht"[edit]

You seem to be almost the sole editor of Het is een Nacht. Quite a lot of the material in the article is lacking reliable sources. Most importantly, I was really tempted to remove the unsourced world sales figure. Could you please either supply a source, or remove the unsourced information? Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 07:11, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added some sources from Dutch sites (I couldn't find English ones). I hope it is better now. I got some information from the Dutch Wikipedia. Do I have to mention that somewhere in the page Het is een Nacht? Best regards, vandijk6.
Per WP:NOENG, "English-language sources are preferred over non-English ones, assuming English sources of equal quality and relevance are available" but if there are no English ones, you can use non-English sources. The guideline also says what you need to include in that case (probably nothing in this case, it seems like a clear cut fact). I'm going to assume that the sources indeed verify the facts - that Meeuwis wrote the song after a romantic weekend with his girlfriend Valérie Gregoire, and that it sold 250,000 copies.
If you took information from the Dutch Wikipedia, it really depends on whether you translated the Dutch Wikipedia article, or wrote your own article and just used it as a reference/check list. For the former case, attribution is required. You can read all about it here, but basically it is quite simply adding {{Translated page}} to the talk page. I hope this helps. --Muhandes (talk) 19:07, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Dutch sources did verify the facts, but I found an English one as well. The English one is almost the same as the Dutch one, but if English sources are preferred over non-English ones, this is better. I also added {{Translated page}} to the talk page. I think the article has improved. - Vandijk6 (talk) 19:32, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I think it's a nice little article. It's a bit of a shame you didn't push it to Did You Know, I'm pretty sure it would have made it. If you are interested, next time, let me know and I'll help if I can. Best regards.--Muhandes (talk) 21:12, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know what Did You Know was. Maybe it's an idea to push my new article "Strings 'n' Stripes" to DYK ? -Vandijk6 (talk) 08:47, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It needs to be at least 1500 characters, outside tables, infoboxes etc. It now has... 150 chars. It also needs a catchy sentence, which I don't see how to do on this one. And it needs to be nominated no more than 5 days from the creation. --Muhandes (talk) 20:32, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gers Pardoel[edit]

Hoi VanDijk.

Nogmaals, dank! Groet, Grashoofd (talk) 00:43, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Damaru (singer).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Damaru (singer).jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:10, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jan Smit discography, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Dutch and German (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I see that you created this article. But usually discography pages are only created when a majority of the artist's albums and/or singles have their own articles. If you want to avoid someone nominating this for deletion (or merging to Jan Smit), it would be best if you started by creating some album articles (with refs to reliable sources establishing their notability of course). Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
