Beware! This user's talk page is monitored by talk page watchers. Some of them even talk back.

That means you Spongefrog and you guys.

Before you edit please remember...

  • Please start any new topics with a == descriptive heading ==.
  • While Wikipedia may not be censored, my talk page sure is. I have the right to remove any images and/or comments that may be offensive to others or myself. If I remove a comment, please don't add it back.
  • I will always respond here, unless you ask me to respond on your talk page. In that case you may want to watch my talk page. Please note that this last request is a big one. I do not want any conversations to be broken up in between two or more talk pages.
  • Please don't take my username seriously and ask for me to e-mail or give you a link to any rare or unreleased Coldplay songs. My response will be WP:MYSPACE. There's already a place for that: Youtube. Thank you.
  • If you're here to attack me, accuse me of sockpuppetry (for the X time), provoke me, or anything else that violates WP:CIVIL, you will most likely not get a reply as I don't really care.

Thank you. Coldplay Expért Let's talk

Hello! Your submission of SM U-118 at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. WikiCup 2010 January newsletter

We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. We've had some shakeups regarding late entries, flag changes and early dropouts, but the competition is now established- there will be no more flag changes or new competitors. Congratulations to Hungary Sasata (submissions), our current leader, who, at the time of writing, has more listed points than Pennsylvania Hunter Kahn (submissions) and New Orleans TonyTheTiger (submissions) (second and third place respectively) combined. A special well done also goes to Isle of Man Fetchcomms (submissions)- his artcle Jewel Box (St. Louis, Missouri) was the first content to score points in the competition.

Around half of competitors are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. 64 of the 149 current competitors will advance to round 2- if you currently have no points, do not worry, as over half of the current top 64 have under 50 points. Everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places in round 2! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, by email or on IRC. Good luck! Forums?

Hey Coldplay, I am still pretty new to Wikipedia and am wondering; what do you guys use to discuss community issues? On Wikia we use a Forum: namespace, but that doesn't exist here. I was wanting to further address the issue of biting newcomers, and if there is already a discussion taking place on this then I would be grateful for a link to it. Thanks, Ajraddatz (Talk) 00:39, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Probably the WP:AN/I or the WP:AN. It depends on the issue.--Coldplay Expért Let's talk 01:36, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Ajraddatz (Talk) 01:53, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh don't mention it.--Coldplay Expért Let's talk 01:54, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! It looks like you may have accidentally rolled back to the wrong revision on Danny, but I just wanted to check to make sure that I'm not missing something -- that's the second time I've had to roll back that page, so am I mistaken? Thanks! -- GorillaWarfare talk 02:16, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. That was my fault. I clicked the revert button too late and reverted a good edit. You did nothing wrong ecept my edit was not in bad faith so it was not vandalism.--Coldplay Expért Let's talk 02:25, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained reverts

Ahem

I started nothing. Malleus showed up to attack me. You have been advised of this before, but I'll say it again: familiarise yourself with a situation before opining on it. → ROUX  22:42, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Have you ever heard of an Eye for an eye makes the world go blind? I have "familiarised" myself on the matter and to be quite honest, you tend to take things way out of proportion. Remeber, Wikipedia:Don't fight fire with fire.--Coldplay Expért Let's talk 22:45, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You have no idea of the history here. Yet again, you're poking in where you don't understand. It's not a good idea, and makes your opinion less valuable when you do know what you're talking about. → ROUX  22:49, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, you don't know when to quit. That's why you got blocked back in October and that's why you were blocked today. You come off as one who seems to argue every point. Even when there's nothing left to argue. IMHO, I could'nt care less about other's opinions about my opinion. I have said in my first post to that thread, take it or leave it. You seem to have "taken" it the wrong way.--Coldplay Expért Let's talk 22:53, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I shall leave it. Ignoring an opinion is far better to listening to one that is woefully uninformed. Here's the thing, when I'm attacked I will defend myself. The Wikipedia Way, however, is to simply block whoever is pissed off. There's no actual purpose to it, and it is merely punitive. More to the point, it is lazy. Rather than actually dealing with a situation, admins prefer to simply block whoever is more upset. Which is always the person who was baited in the first place. → ROUX  22:56, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Look, I understand what your saying. You just need to take things into proportion. Now if someone at work like a fellow co-worker called you an "idiot" or something along those lines then you have a good reason to get mad. If some random wikipedia editor who is miles away from you and who has no clue about you IRL calls you the same thing, why bother with any reply? It's a wast of your own valuable time.--Coldplay Expért Let's talk 23:03, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Roux, I know you're upset with everything that went on and you feel like the whole world is against you. But fighting back is not the answer. For you, I would repeat the same advice I gave Coldplay: If someone says or does something that causes you great distress, do this: Take a deep breath and get off the computer. Resist the temptation to snap right back, even if that person is very rude to you because it’s very hard to think straight when you’re angry or upset. Once that’s done, do something that will cool down your emotions (in my case, it’s pacing around for a bit =P). As soon as you’re calm again, think about what that person’s said and reflect on your actions. If that person is right, then accept it and think about how you will change. It would be even better if you could thank the person who pointed the problem out to you and tell him or her how you would solve the problem (and abide by this statement). That’s what I always do and things work out quite well. ;) But in the rare instances where the person is wrong, well, just let things go. Holding a grudge benefits no one. Participation at my RfA

Thank you for taking the time to weigh in on my RfA. It was successful, in that the community's wish not to grant me the tools at this time was honored. I'm taking all the comments as constructive feedback and hope to become more valuable to the project as a result; I've also discovered several new areas in which to work. Because debating the merits of a candidate can be taxing on the heart and brain, I offer this kitten as a low-allergen, low-stress token of my appreciation. --otherlleft 14:33, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
