Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to List of Upsilon Sigma Phi brothers, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Lists of members like the Upsilon Sigma Phi brothers should be limited to those people who have pages about them (or who are likely to have them written about them and even there, writing the article about them first is best). Also. There is a *much* better way to do references that combines them rather than make a *very* long list.

Please create a list of those who have articles on a sandbox page and we can make it much better. Naraht (talk) 16:51, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to List of Upsilon Sigma Phi brothers appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person or organization added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. I wish I had a copy of the 90 years book, there are a lot of people who *do* need to be added. And I think you've got the general idea in deleting those who are only top notchers. Let's work on this together. You can respond here or at my talk page.Naraht (talk) 17:19, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Citations and the book...

[edit]

The Book is what is called a Primary Source in that it is published by Upsilon Sigma Phi. It is preferred that Secondary Sources (This newspaper says that the person is an Upsilon Sigma Phi brother). It is fine if you want to add the 90 years book reference to everyone that the book says, but the secondary should be left as well. Cheers!Naraht (talk) 20:55, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
