Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Hello 168.39.155.33, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Texas Lottery have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.

My changes were made in an effort to make this page accurate. Several items, especially about Texas Lottery draw games was incorrect, as either the rules of some games changed or they are no longer being offered. Hi, this is understood. Please disregard the "Beneficiaries" section, but the edits regarding "Texas Triple Chances", "Powerball" and "Monopoly Millionaires' Club" MUST BE INCLUDED. There have been significant changes to the status of those lottery games. Thank you for your cooperation. Since it is also important to include information about where money from Texas Lottery sales go, how do I correctly post the "Beneficiaries" section that I previously added? As you see in that revision, I quoted the content and cited it, crediting the webpage that contained the information. This is the only warning you will receive about ownership of articles, which you showed at Texas Lottery. The next time you continue to disruptively edit Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. It appears that after asking for advice, you've decided instead to disruptively insert this material again instead of being patient and waiting for suggestions. You do not own this article. I suggest that you read WP:COPYVIO and adhere to that policy. Wholesale quoting of a source that is copyrighted is not acceptable. Changing a few words is not acceptable. Also, the chart that is given uses the numbers from the source and adequately summarizes the paragraphs at the source you are copying. There is zero need to include an excessive level of detail in an encyclopedia. --Kinu ^t/_c 20:56, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
