Information icon Hello, I'm Shadow311. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to John Lee Hooker have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Hello Shadow311. If the change was the one about tempo, I think it is actually misinformation. The difficulty musicians had with JLH was his disregard for standard blues changes, not his tempo which was quite steady. Any listen to his recorded work will show that steady tempo. As a guitar player myself and fan of JLH since 1965, I believe I am qualified to make that observation and to hold that opinion. I experienced the same difficulty as a young player when I played along with his records. It wasn't the tempo; it was the random chord changes - when there were any at all - he favored one-chord drones very often.
My recommendation is to correct the inaccurate description with a correct one, or leave it out altogether if it's going to be a contentious point. Fretts999 (talk) 15:16, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
