If you continue to upload images claiming you created them yourself when you did not, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Even with public domain images, this is not acceptable. Sources should be clearly identified, and why they're in the public domain made clear. Regards WilyD 18:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tags[edit]

Let me know if you need some help with these; as the post above says, there seem to be some problems with your image uploads. --John 18:41, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this image is a NASA image, for instance it's here: [1] in a public release catalogue of images. It should be tagged appropriately, compare with entries in Category:NASA images. The Vega one could be replaced by a higher res version anyhow, so there's not much sense in keeping it. WilyD 18:46, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, the images you uploaded that violated someone's copyright are now deleted - please don't do that again. I've tagged the NASA images appropriately, and uploaded higher resolution versions to boot. In the future, if you're unsure of what to do ... ask! WilyD 20:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:REAL 1.JPG[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:REAL 1.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:47, 1 September 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 19:47, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
