Wikipedia and copyright

Hello 24.44.182.60, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Avet Terterian have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
• In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
• Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. I'm unclear about the block

@Graham87: Hello. First, I apologize if this is not the correct way to contact you about this. I've never done this before, tried entering this on your talk page but was unable to because of the block so I figured this was the only way. I am contacting you because I am unclear about why I was blocked. I would like to know exactly why so I don't do it again, as I really do want to make useful contributions to Wikipedia. There was an issue recently with copy-paste that I was notified about by another admin, but I don't think I've done that anywhere else, so I'm just hoping for an explanation so I can clean up my act. You're maniacally focused on incorrectly adding country categories (i.e. editing like a nationalist). I don't believe when you say that this is your first time editing, and I won't unblock you. Graham87 02:08, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

@Graham87: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say this was my first time editing, I meant it was my first time trying to contact someone on Wikipedia. I understand if this is about the edit for the Sabiha Gökçen page adding the category for Turkish people of Armenian descent. I figured that, because the article already mentioned the controversy over her Bosniak or Armenian origins and she was already listed under the category for Turkish people of Bosniak descent that it would be fair to also add the Armenian category, but clearly I was wrong and I apologize. As for the other people I added the category of people of Armenian descent for (mostly musicians as I recall), to my knowledge those were all correct identifications though I concede I could have made a mistake. My intention was to help fill out the relevant category pages for musicians of Armenian descent (and in a few cases Turkish people of Armenian descent like Hrant Dink and Arat Dink), but again I understand if this is against Wikipedia rules/conventions of editing. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my message. I understand if you still won't unblock me, and I assure you I will not make these same mistakes when I eventually am unblocked.
