March 2023

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Aadirulez8. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Innocent (actor) have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Please don't make self promotion in message section of the edits Aadirulez8 (talk) 15:29, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, @Aadirulez8. Mentioning the directors and writers (principal collaborators) of the movies he acted in is constructive enough an exercise if you ask me, and I'd appreciate it if people didn't automatically assume themselves to be a judge or authority on the same. If you would like to experiment with exercising your authority, please use your sandbox or find someone else to bully (I hope you're punching up while you're at it). AASHAAN of AASHAANS (talk) 06:39, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for the tone of the earlier message, but I hope you understand that making a mention of directors and writers can be useful and convenient for people for research purposes AASHAAN of AASHAANS (talk) 09:44, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I believe we should keep consistent with most Filmography format i.e. Year, Title, Role, Notes as per WP:FILMOGRAPHY
About self promotion, the comments are to help other editors to get a summary of work or reasons but in your case when you self promote like "***AASHAAN of Aashaans was here!!!***" is not constructive. Hope that clears the misunderstanding. Aadirulez8 (talk) 12:34, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Way I see it, adding details about collaborators like directors and writers is an improvement over the generic format suggested by Wikipedia, so I hope it stays the way I did it. As for the cheekiness in the comments, I admit that while it's not constructive, it wasn't done with any serious intention of self-promotion at all. Hope that clears your doubt about the same AASHAAN of AASHAANS (talk) 13:40, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
To sum up, that comment is only as serious as your username being "Aadirulez". There is nothing more to it; no ulterior motive. Hope we could get together to raise the matter of making filmographies more comprehensive by adding director and writer columns AASHAAN of AASHAANS (talk) 13:57, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't want to revert your major work in Innocent but it seems to be not following WP:FILMOGRAPHY
So I would like to ask second opinion from a fellow editor User:Archer1234 and hope we can keep it civil if it needs to be reverted. Aadirulez8 (talk) 12:41, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Let me make it clear that my additions aren't acts of vandalism or anything destructive or harmful. On the contrary, I believe that I am trying to make the list/table more comprehensive than the established template allows it to be. Given that you have accepted that it is major work, I hope you won't revert on the same
As for civility, I see gatekeeping as blatant enough an act of incivility, and I see no merit in the civility maintained by blindly following templates
Thank you! AASHAAN of AASHAANS (talk) 13:46, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
