Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Abbeymcfarland. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page America in Bloom, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 18:37, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at America in Bloom, you may be blocked from editing. There is no reason to have this list in the article. Please stop editing the article. If you want to propose changes, use the article Talk page. Bbb23 (talk) 19:08, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am an intern with America in Bloom

[edit]

I am only making edits that were given to me by my boss. I have to update the board of directors list because it changes every two years.I will also be adding some other changes and adding links in order to provide more references for their wikipedia page. @Bbb23:

I have never edited Wikipedia pages before, is there something I need to get verified in order to make these changes?

As I told you above, you cannot make changes directly to the article. You must propose the changes on the article Talk page. Then, if other editors agree that the changes are appropriate, one of them will make the change to the article.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:24, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
