Speedy deletion of Creation of page[edit]

This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Check out WP:BIO for details on what you need to be able to show in order to show that your person meets the notability requirements for the project. You recent edits on Universities[edit]

I saw you made a couple addition on some Universities concerning the Gourman report and the "declining non-English speaking universities influence". Maybe it would be a good idea to discuss both points on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities before continuing these edits? --Anneyh (talk) 08:20, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

September 2010[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.

I note that an anonymous editor has emerged to revert an entire series of my edits on this subject, here. If that is you, trying to avoid this 3RR problem, I would strongly caution you against the practice. You will wind up with a blocked account. JohnInDC (talk) 16:49, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gourman Report[edit]

I want to be clear in stating my objections to this item, in the hope that you'll stop adding it to various university articles short of finding yourself blocked.

The report - which has been consistently criticized on methodological grounds - was last published in 1997. The information, if it was ever 'reliable', is now stale and should not be inserted into current articles to describe the rankings of universities. Please stop doing so. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment.
