January 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from WCIT-TV, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Ironholds (talk) 00:06, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with The Indenpent Channel. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you.  Glenfarclas  (talk) 00:18, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated WCIT-TV, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/WCIT-TV. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Eastmain (talk) 01:18, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on WCTW-TV, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. mechamind90 01:43, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The problem, to me, is not that a lack of context. It's that I can't find any evidence that this television station actually exists. There is no ABC affiliate in New London, Connecticut, according to [1]. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 02:38, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copy-and-paste page moves[edit]

Hello, Adonai23541. Concerning your contribution, College GameDay:Football Edition, a page move cannot be done by simply copying and pasting the contents of a page into a new location, as such a process does not transfer the page's edit history and therefore violates the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). As a violation of the page move process, College GameDay:Football Edition needs to be temporarily deleted under the speedy deletion criteria so that the page you intended to move may be properly moved in a way that will preserve its edit history. College GameDay:Football Edition has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If not, please refrain from editing either the page you intended to move or College GameDay:Football Edition until the latter has been deleted according to Wikipedia's speedy criterion G6 (non-controversial housekeeping).

If you did not intend to make a page move, then please insert the {{hangon}} tag right below the {{db-copypaste}} tag in College GameDay:Football Edition and state your intentions on Talk:College GameDay:Football Edition. An administrator will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. Thank you for your contributions. DeFaultRyan 23:07, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
