Help me! (Adminiship, Moderatorship and Other User-Levels)

[edit]

Please help me with...

Hi! I would like to apply or work towards one day earn a placement in Moderation or Administration. Now it is obvious and likely that becoming moderator or administrator isn't just "like that." If you could provide me with the information on how to become Moderator, Administrator, (or alternatively, another position in the wikipedia user-level hierarchy) that would be great.

Thanks!

Hi Ahandy123, and welcome to Wikipedia. First, it's great that you're interested in helping in maintaining Wikipedia. However, you should not join because you seek to become an administrator. Wikipedia is not a "hierarchy" and user levels don't work "like that". If you're interested in becoming an administrator someday, feel free to take a peek at WP:GRFA; however, note that seeming over-eager to become an administrator is sometimes frowned upon by other Wikipedians. --L235 (t / c / ping in reply) 17:44, 21 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
