Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Ailsamaloney12 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:14, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You

Hello, I am using WikiBooks as part of a University Course. Thank you for the welcome, User:RickinBaltimore . I will definitely check out the Student Guide thank you for the tip. Ailsamaloney12 (talk) 20:53, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:RickinBaltimore Do I need to put {{Educational Assignment}} if I am writing on discussions of WikiBooks? Ailsamaloney12 (talk) 22:22, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Re-pinging RickinBaltimore just in case they didn't see it. Primefac (talk) 23:13, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Wikibooks is a separate sister project. You have a separate user page and user talk page over there, namely b:User:Ailsamaloney12 and b:User talk:Ailsamaloney12. If you don't intend to edit Wikipedia as part of the course, you don't need to do anything here. Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with Wikibooks to give much advice on what you should do over there, but they don't seem to have a version of the Educational Assignment template, so you cannot make use of it on Wikibooks - it's meant only for the talk pages of Wikipedia articles. Huon (talk) 23:23, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, and I apologize for me taking so long to get back to you on this. As Huon said, Wikibooks is a separate project, and that template doesn't exist over there from what I can tell. I would suggest you pose this question on Wikibooks, and one of the veteran editors there could help you out better. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.
