Thanks for your edits to HMAS Grantala, but a few comments

[edit]

Hi AlanahE. Thank you for the edits you made to HMAS Grantala. However, I have had to alter or undo some of them, so thought I would drop you a line so you know for next time.

  • First off, dates in Australia (and consequently, dates in articles on Australian subjects) are written in the format "day month year", not the "month day comma year" that is used in the United States. Things like date format and spelling are localised to the region the article subject comes from (see Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#National_varieties_of_English for details).
  • Generally, other articles only need to be linked to once in the prose of the article (links in tables, infoboxes, etc are a different ballgame). Further information is at Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Linking#What_generally_should_not_be_linked.
  • Names do not need to be emphasised (or in the case of ship names, further emphasised) by putting quote marks around them.
  • Newcastle Upon Tyne is the geographical location where the shipyard for Armstrong Whitworth is located (but considering the way it was originally phrased, its an easy mistake to make. I've tried to make it clearer).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me (drop a line at user talk:Saberwyn). Happy editing! -- saberwyn 03:23, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
