Thank you for all your work, Alex. Even in those times when we disagreed, you were always helpful and inventive. I will miss you. James F. (talk) 13:35, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't know you, but I've read your user page now and it was very interesting. Thank you, Nemo 14:02, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- I remember that when I visited Wikimania in Boston (2006), someone I was talking with explained me why you were so important to the Wikimedia/Wikipedia movement. I think we may have had a short chat - but this really stuck all those years, when you said once again some sensible things. Always constructive as far as I could see - although not always happy with the way things were going. Thanks for all the good work - I'm sorry to see someone like you go. effeietsanders 20:51, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

- I've ended up on your userpage somehow (I think through Wikipedia:Elections § Association of Members' Advocates); I've never known you but I found your userpage an interesting read. Thank you for what you've done for the project. Zetana (talk) 07:23, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
