Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~)
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put
{{My sandbox}}
on your user page. Seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.Sincerely, Crtew (talk) 02:48, 11 January 2012 (UTC) (Leave me a message)
Course Link
[edit]Good question! Our class has a syllabus here. You can also click on the link for "Introduction to Mass Communication" on my User page. And if you're in our Blackboard site, I have created a link there.Crtew (talk) 04:49, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Fixing Bare Links
[edit]The way to convert bare links to full references is to use the template "Cleanup-link rot", which sits between the 2 opening "{" and 2 closing "}" brackets. But I saw that you found that out! Looks good so far. Now you can find your journalist as he was mentioned in the news! Crtew (talk) 18:28, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Good start
[edit]AlexJenison, You're off to a good start in locating useful references from world press freedom organizations and you have formatted everything in wikicode and run the reflinks tool. Now you need to locate news articles and you'll be ready! Crtew (talk) 02:27, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
News links
[edit]Search both Google and Google News for more about him. You're missing links like the YouTube video that I posted but also the news.Crtew (talk) 18:38, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Your question about your article
[edit]He is the only Iranian journalist listed as having died cover the War in Afghanistan. But you need to explain the context behind the Taliban attack that killed him. Ask a Rice Librarian to help you find an article about the death incident. Fill out the context. Look at the other foreign journalists who died during that war as a model.
