New WikiProject Socialism membership system

[edit]

Hello! I'm in the process of introducing a new membership system to WikiProject Socialism (designed as part of WikiProject X and adopted by a few other projects). The new system works by filling a form which creates a WikiProject Card. I'm manually creating WikiProject cards for current members. You can find and edit yours here. Any change to your WikiProject card will be automaticalle updated at Wikipedia:WikiProject Socialism/Members. If you have any doubt, please, feel free to contact me by replying here using the {{re}} template. Best, --MarioGom (talk) 00:37, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited La Plebe, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 99% (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Anarchism

[edit]

Hi Anarhistička Maca,

I saw your work on articles related to anarchism and wanted to say hello, as I work in the topic area too. If you haven't already, you might want to watch our noticeboard for Wikipedia's coverage of anarchism, which is a great place to ask questions, collaborate, discuss style/structure precedent, and stay informed about content related to anarchism. Take a look for yourself!

And if you're looking for other juicy places to edit, consider expanding a stub, adopting a cleanup category, or participating in one of our current formal discussions.

Feel free to say hi on my talk page and let me know if these links were helpful (or at least interesting). Hope to see you around. czar 23:59, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

On June 30th of this year, you made several unexplained edits to Wikipedia:WikiProject Stubsensor/20110823/2, removing several sections, which could be confused for vandalism. Since removing sections appears to be common practice when you have finished destubbing a section, I have not reverted the edits. However you did not "claim" the sections, and the edits were too close together to have gone through the articles (Unless you used tools). If these edits weren't vandalism, please tell me, and please use edit summaries. Helloimahumanbeing (talk) 20:43, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Helloimahumanbeing! At that time, I had just began editing on Wikipedia, and although I wanted to and did contribute to that Wikiproject, I did not properly understand the protocol until I had gone through multiple sections, and only removed them after I had first checked each article (not using tools). I apologize for the confusion with vandalism and for the lack of edit summaries, I have been more careful since then in my recent contributions. Thank you for checking this with me <3 Anarhistička Maca (talk) 22:28, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I apologize for the pornographic vandalism [3]Boone&diff=978003060&oldid=978028850&diffmode=source I created. I didn't appeal for so long so that I would have a less biased perspective on my own block. I understand that I broke WP's UCoC and that my block was deserved. In a childish attempt at a joke I obscenely edited a widely-used public encyclopedia, and I apologize for any harm or discomfort that I may have caused in the time it was live. I am also sorry to have contributed to stressing the trust placed in WP to be a serious and reputable resource. Up until my block, none of the other 340 edits I made over more than a year on WP were malicious. Before I was blocked I contributed: frequent copy-editing; to some maintenance WikiProjects; and made many well-informed, upheld contributions to articles in linguistics, language, politics, and other subjects while participating in their WikiProjects. If I am unblocked I will resume responsibly editing the encyclopedia in those ways and others. Thanks for considering. Anarhistička Maca (talk) 02:47, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Accept reason:

I will give you another chance to contribute. Good luck. 331dot (talk) 13:04, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I like a lot of what I see here, but I would like to to know (generally speaking) why on that occasion you decided to make such an attempt at a joke. 331dot (talk) 09:13, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think the best way to describe why is that I was lashing out, particularly at something I cared about. At the time I was stressed out by my living situation and fraught relationship with my family. Vandalizing WP page I personally disliked the contents of was some sort of attempt at levity and agency, I suppose. But I've to come to regret what I did since my ban and in that time my environment improved and my desire to contribute to WP has returned. I don't have any desire to do anything to WP but contribute and improve it.Anarhistička Maca (talk) 06:17, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No objection. Vsmith (talk) 12:12, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Anarchism checking in

[edit]

Hey there! I noticed you have identified yourself as a member of WikiProject Anarchism in your user page, but you don't appear to have been very active in this subject area for some time. Just in case you're still interested, here's a little update:

  • In the past couple years, we have brought four articles to Featured status, including the ones on Nestor Makhno, La Salute è in voi, The May Pamphlet and "The Day Before the Revolution". We're likely to get even more to this status in the near future, so stay tuned to the front page for some of our best articles on the platform.
  • A number of our most vital articles have been reviewed and achieved Good Article status, including ones on Gaetano Bresci, Camilo Cienfuegos, Joseph Déjacque, Luigi Galleani, Paul Goodman, and the Kronstadt rebellion. As these "vital articles" are generally considered among the most important on the platform, we aim to get as many as possible to GA and FA status over the coming years.
  • We recently hit the first milestone for our stub-expansion project, getting the number of stubs down to under 1/5th of our total articles. This means that the vast majority of our articles are now relatively substantial, as we expand and add greater detail to the articles that lack sufficient information. We hope to narrow this number down even further, so more articles have the information they deserve.
  • We just started a cleanup drive, in which we are aiming to resolve the problematic parts of our articles, from finding citations for unsourced sections to fixing up formatting errors. In doing this, we intend to make sure our articles provide the best possible reading experience, without unsourced claims or ugly tags littering the page.

If you want to get more involved in the project, please feel free! We always need an extra pair of hands to help out with our ever-growing project. If you want to help out with one of the above efforts, go right ahead. If you want to keep more up to date with the project's activities, consider adding our noticeboard to your watchlist or adding your name to our mailing list. On the other hand, if you think you're time with the project is over, then consider removing the userbox from your user page, but we do hope you're still interested in our wee project.

All the best to you, whatever your future plans are. Regards, --Grnrchst (talk) 11:45, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I haven't been very active on Wikipedia since I was unbanned, most of my activity has moved to English Wiktionary. I am still interested in this project, although I think I'm interested in translation from Russian or Spanish and minor cleanup at the moment. I see that Letov's page is one listed for cleanup, and that the English version of the page is still shorter compared to the Russian one. I may do something there. Thanks for reaching out, Anarhistička Maca (talk) 19:54, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No bother! Good to hear from you. I hope you've had a nice experience editing Wiktionary. If you're interested in doing translations, we now have pages compiling red links for Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish anarchists (although I'm still filling out the Spanish list, there's a lot on es-wiki). --Grnrchst (talk) 08:21, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
