Pictures on Talk Pages

[edit]
Quite frankly, I don't know that much about pictures in Wikipedia. I would suggest checking out Wikipedia:Picture tutorial. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Well, I'm willing to help if you need anything...I'm actually not very new around here, I've been editing for about nine months :P. It's just that I wanted some direct input from other editors. You're welcome to come to me with any questions you have. Also, you may want to add <br> at the end of each line you write, or leave a double space. Another thing to note is that making a space at the beginning of a new line changes the message into typewriter text. Also, you can type --~~~~ at the end of your message by pressing the button. It will automatically leave your username and the time of which your message was posted. So with all that in mind, your message could look more like this:

Hey, i'm new too! maybye we

could post some ideas and tips

to each other! so contact me.

my login name is Annahly

type it in search and you should

find my page.

Oh, and on another note, if you're not sure about what to start working on, you can take up a task.

You can help improve the articles listed below! This list updates frequently, so check back here for more tasks to try. (See Wikipedia:Maintenance or the Task Center for further information.)

Help counter systemic bias by creating new articles on important women.

Help improve popular pages, especially those of low quality.

I hope this helps. Don't forget to be BOLD in editing and contact me with any more questions you have on my talkpage. Have a good day!-- The ikiroid  16:06, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ikiroid, thanks for the reply I LOVE gardening do you? Anywhay I could definitely use some help on putting pictures on my page I see u have them on yours so I need help putting some on mine. My friend Alphachimp suggested Wikipedia pictures Tutorial or something like that. Well I gotta jet so give me a note (on my talk page) if you have any ideas, or pictures you might suggest.

THanks! AA-lot! Anna 00:27, 28 May 2006 (UTC)AnnahlyAnna 00:27, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you wanna upload an image or something, you click "Upload file" on the side of the screen. It's under "Email this user". But here's the hard part: you gotta to provide a license. If you made the image yourself, you should license it under "Creative Commons" or "GFDL." However, if it's a photo, and someone other than you is in it, you need their permission, or else the image is not kosher for wikipedia, and someone will come and block you forever (just kidding). I wouldn't upload more than one or two images for your userpage, though, a lotta wikipedians get mad if you're using huge amounts of server space for personal pics that don't go in the encyclopedia. Oh, and I do like plants and such, although I don't like the work of gardening, just the end result ;). And as my final piece of advice, you only have to write your signature (this thing-> --~~~~) once at the end of your note, or else you'll get two signatures! You also don't have to write "Annahly" after it, the four ~~~~ change into your name after you hit "Save page".-- The ikiroid  01:35, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Ikiroid I did click upload file and made an account and it is so weird I hope it works!

thanks again! --Anna 01:58, 28 May 2006 (UTC) P.S. How do you sighn at the end? I need detailed info sorry! P.P.S oh and I LOVE roses I have 3 rose bushes, of red pink and yellow roses.[reply]

Well, for a full explanation about signatures (how to customize them, where to use them) I'd check out Wikipedia:Signatures. It does a better job of explaining it than I ever could ;).-- The ikiroid  15:21, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks ikiroid! that might help

later. Annahly
