Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Anonymousread, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Teachers College, Columbia University, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! --Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:24, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 13:45, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Teachers College is an affiliate school and is listed as such on Columbia's official website. It is not a Columbia graduate school. Teachers College students do not have Columbia IDs and are not included in Columbia Alumni database (except for those in certain specified degrees). Teachers College alumni also do not receive Columbia Alumni emails.[1] [2]

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 14:01, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I was making necessary contribution to enrich the topic. Proper citations were included from official website 'Columbia's website) Anonymousread (talk) 17:07, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You inserted no citations whatsoever; merely opinion. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 18:59, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The facts were in the text in existing references. I also previously, in the unblock request, referred more specifically to the passages on official Columbia University's website to back up all the information I inserted. This is not to mention that I corrected erroneous information on the topic (In 2021, Teachers College is ranked 9, not 8). Please double check and see. I can certainly include more references to back up my edits, but I in no way used opinions and not valid, official information to enrich the encyclopedia. Decline reason:

Since you think that you acted properly, there are no grounds to remove the block. 331dot (talk) 08:22, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Well, I think the request said that, you need to prove that the block is no longer necessary because you: understand what you have been blocked for,

    1. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    2. will make useful contributions instead.

I think I have read that and will not cause disruption or damange to the community. I am making useful contribution to the topic, and I hope my previous explanations showed you that. Thank you. Anonymousread (talk) 09:35, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I have revoked talk page access, because your unblock requests are not improving. PhilKnight (talk) 12:39, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
