It's OK to ask for help, you know, but please do not remove a maintenance tag until the issue has been fixed. You now appear to have removed the refs entirely, which leaves the article in violation of WP:V because it is completely unsourced. Start by reading WP:REF and WP:CITET for how to reference your sources, WP:ATT for why you need to, and WP:BAND for guidelines about bands. Leave me a message if you would like more help. For the most part, your article is a lot better than most users' first efforts. Adrian M. H. 21:56, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Sorry that deletion was an accident of editing. Do the refs and external links now meet the standards? Best regards, Jeff aka Apprentice punk— Preceding unsigned comment added by Apprentice punk (talkcontribs)
No, it doesn't. Sorry. Have a read of those gudelines and help pages to which I have linked, but also take your cue from other articles. For example, Formula BMW is one article from my list of contribs that uses the right ref format. Every key statement - ie, anything that is not self-evident or might reasonably be questioned - is sourced, and the sources are annotated in detail. WP:V states that unsourced material can be removed - personally, I usually move it to the talk page, but the important thing is that anything that you read on Wikipedia needs to be backed up by reliable sources. Thanks, I've checked the guidelines on bands and figured that as the band had a single with radio airplay that might qualify the page. Does it? As for refs I'll have a look at your articles tomorrow if that's ok, but I think I've realised what you mean. Best regards, apprentice_punk 22:29, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have not checked into it in detail, but you don't have any major notability worries as far as I'm aware. I'll keep your talk page on my watchlist for a little while in case you need more help. Regards, Adrian M. H. 22:31, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, that's really good work. Not only with the refs, but with the article as a whole. Looks good! Adrian M. H. 16:40, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks :) Got the hang of it, it was getting a bit late where I am last night - I don't think the brain was quite as sharp :) apprentice_punk 18:55, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, another bit of stuff to worry about: The Plague page is a "disambiguation" page and has some guidelines to make it useful for people that might be looking for a particular article (perhaps, they are not looking for this band, for example). These are documented here. Basically, it means the readers should see the full article title (including "(English punk rock band)"). I hope we are not scaring you away from contributing further with all the "rules," but they (usually!) make sense. (John User:Jwy talk) 20:18, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, ok no problem, that's an easy edit. Everything else is ok though I trust? Best regards apprentice_punk 21:03, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Which you've done I see :) apprentice_punk 21:04, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yup. Lookin' good now. Your learning fast. Soon you'll be a complete punk :-) (John User:Jwy talk) 00:40, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Any idea why links 11 and 12 don't work? I can't see anything I've done differently from the others... apprentice_punk 09:12, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry. They look fine from here, so I think they're OK. Might just be your browser's cache not refreshing properly. Adrian M. H. 11:20, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Something weird has happened, there is a The Plague (English punk rock band) page and a The Plague (English Punk Rock Band) page - note that all the words in brackets are in capitals in the second page, not sure how that happened, can we delete it? It also seems to be a much earlier and unsuitable edit. Regards, apprentice_punk 20:35, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: The Plague

[edit]

The issues have, it seems, been resolved by the edits you made after i posted that tags. however, passages like ". Despite requesting a no-holds-barred punk show, certain "respectable" members of the audience went berserk, almost leading to a fight between the school's PE teacher and the band/manager. The headmaster demanded an apology from The Plague, which was naturally unforthcoming. From that point onward they were banned from all ILEA venues, rather a fitting and appropriate state of affairs for a hungry teenage punk band in 1977! " dont sound particularly encyclopedic, exclamation marks and so on. we're supposed to be neutral. thanks! Ironholds (talk) 12:20, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have made some further edits along the lines you suggested. If you're happy with that can you take the tag down? apprentice_punk (talk) 19:09, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Much improved, i've removed the tag. Its nice to meet an editor who listens to requests/concerns :). Ironholds (talk) 22:17, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
