Camp Rising Sun

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to the article, but please keep in mind that this article has been flagged more than once for problems and has been nominated for deletion (the result was "keep"). In the face of other complaints and concern it would be nominated again for deletion, I embarked on a re-write to remove the offending copy (said to be like a sales brochure — and it was, in fact, directly lifted from the CRS promotional brochure). I recognized the copy you wrote as coming from the CRS brochure. There are precious few newspaper articles about the camp, but I found some and used them. When you add copy in front of those reference tags, you are stating that this information is contained in them, so when you do this wrongly (the information is not in the source), you cause a problem where none previously existed. I added a list of notable alumni to help people who aren't familiar with the camp see why it deserves a page on Wikipedia. If you're involved with the camp itself, why don't you get on the case of some of the alums from outside the US and get them to write pages on their Wikipedia sister projects? Or get your local newspaper to write an article about the camp so it can be used in the future as a reference. Also keep in mind that the list of notable alumns should have very short descriptions, being that they nearly all have their own articles where people can read more about them. The descriptions should be minimal, for identification purposes, not summaries of what they've done. That's what their individual articles are for! Thanks!
