Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Asciidwarf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. @Schminnte I do not understand why the page was deleted. I followed the guidelines of the new page creation wizard where I was required to create a user page and to put self-description and explicit list of affiliations there, and to also add explicit disclaimer if some of my work is paid which is a case for the WireMock page I have submitted as a draft. So this is what I did. Why was it marked for speedy deletion and then removed without giving a chance to respond? Asciidwarf (talk) 19:15, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The page was deleted due to violating our policy on what Wikipedia userpages are for. Userpages can only be used for information relating to Wikipeda, with only limited biographical information allowed. Due to this, it has been speedily deleted, hence the removal. If you want to draft an article, I would reccomend that you use your sandbox or a draft. Thanks, Schminnte (talk contribs) 19:21, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I believe the page was fully compliant with the guidelines from the new page constructor and specifically https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Paid-contribution_disclosure. There was just a short bio, and a list of public affiliations that need to be disclosed. I do not mind rewriting the page if you could point to what is actually wrong with the page. I am a newcomer contributor, and I cannot find where the guidelines are violated
Thanks for your time and explanation! Asciidwarf (talk) 19:33, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Generally it's not a problem of wrong content, but wrong place. As I said, userpages are not the place for writing bios or articles, that would be a draft or sandbox. If you could use your userpage to describe just your Wikipedia activities including any disclosures that would be great. Sorry for the rude welcoming, I hope you continue to contribute. Thanks, Schminnte (talk contribs) 19:54, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Things happen, no worries. I am an open source community manager, so I have seen various contributor onboarding processes and entry bars. I will recreate the page later and abstain from putting a bio at all. Are all affiliations necessary? I have maybe two dozens of them, so it might feel like an article too Asciidwarf (talk) 20:17, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As long as it's just disclosure, I can't forsee there being any problems. Thanks for understanding. Schminnte (talk contribs) 20:27, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
