Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Sisir Misra. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:13, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Sisir Mishra, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Sisir Misra. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 15:04, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Sisir Mishra. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Sisir Misra. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Sisir Misra - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Who needs names? talk the talk 15:10, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at Sisir Mishra

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Sisir Mishra, a page you have created yourself. Copy-and-paste page moves

[edit]

Hello, Asitsar. Concerning your contribution, Sisir Mishra, a page move cannot be done by simply copying and pasting the contents of a page into a new location, as such a process does not transfer the page's edit history and therefore violates the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license by denying attribution to editors who worked on Sisir Misra. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from Sisir Misra. As a violation of the page move process, Sisir Mishra needs to be temporarily deleted under the speedy deletion criteria so that Sisir Misra may be properly moved in a way that will preserve its edit history. Sisir Mishra has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If not, please refrain from editing either Sisir Misra or Sisir Mishra until the latter has been deleted according to Wikipedia's speedy criterion G6 (non-controversial housekeeping).

If you did not intend to make a page move, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. An administrator will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. Thank you for your contributions. Logan Talk Contributions 20:57, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sisir Mishra has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. NW (Talk) 00:25, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hanuman Jayanti page

[edit]

Hi @Asitsar, this is @Chilicave!

I noticed that you added some content on how Odisha celebrates Hanuman Jayanti. I definitely think that it is important to add the cultural variations by state on how a festival is celebrated. Would you kindly add a reference too? Thank you! Chilicave (talk) 00:55, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Chilicave,
I see you have reverted the changes regarding Hanuman Jayanti in Odisha. I can add references to it. As I am from Odisha, till I grown up and I was not aware of any other day as Hanuman Jayanti, other than the Maha Vishuba Sankranti, which is also the Hanuman Jayanti in our state.
You can find lots of references via Google, however The best among them is the Kohinoor Calendar. This is the accepted calendar in Puri Jagannath temple, which decide all our festivals. Please refer to the April month Page, where April 14th is Hanuman Jayanti.
https://www.odiacalendar.com/odia-calendar-2023/kohinoor-calendar/april.php
However as you might not be able to read Odia script, I am posting a same calendar link with English translation of Festival dates. Please refer to April Month in the following link.
https://ganpatisevak.in/odia-kohinoor-calendar-panjika-free-download/
I am also posting references from various media houses.
https://odishatv.in/news/festivals-events/pana-sankranti-and-odia-new-year-observed-across-odisha-pm-modi-cm-naveen-greet-people-174804
https://kalingatv.com/state/festivals-of-odishas-lord-jagannath-temple-in-puri-in-2022-23-complete-list/
https://www.hindu-blog.com/2010/04/mahavishuba-sankranti-2010-oriya-new.html
Now can you add my changes, so that the right information will be in place. Asitsar (talk) 04:10, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Asitsar!
I do appreciate you getting back to me and making the effort to share some references. There are actually a few things that I do want to bring to light, if you were not aware:
  1. I think you should add content to the pages that you want to on your own - after all, we are a community and anyone can edit!
  2. Not sure if you were aware of Wikipedia policies, but before you add something to a page you should be able to adhere to certain requirements. I suggest that you have a look at WP:Reliable Sources and WP:Verifiability to see if the sources you shared here are reliable. To me it seems that: https://odishatv.in/news/festivals-events/pana-sankranti-and-odia-new-year-observed-across-odisha-pm-modi-cm-naveen-greet-people-174804 and https://kalingatv.com/state/festivals-of-odishas-lord-jagannath-temple-in-puri-in-2022-23-complete-list/ seem okay to me, but calendars and blogs are not great sources to add (you can read WP:Blogs)
I wish you all the best in your editing journey! Chilicave (talk) 02:43, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @Chilicave for your input. I will keep in my mind. Here it was something we follow, and I felt that right information should flow for state/culture.
Thank you again. Asitsar (talk) 04:42, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
