Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Atdevel, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to complete the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit the Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Again, welcome! —PaleoNeonate00:04, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia

[edit]

The standard question: have you used a previous account to edit Wikipedia? —PaleoNeonate00:04, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I used this account a few years ago, but my edits were deleted. I mostly would edit by IP. Atdevel (talk) 10:55, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Would you mind verifying a few of those IPs for us, please? --Wikiman2718 (talk) 20:41, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Also, could you please explain why you created this account in 2013, but did not begin editing until six days ago? --Wikiman2718 (talk) 21:39, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Recent reports

[edit]

I noticed that you posted this ANI complaint just 14 minutes after I made my comment, even though no one notified you of the discussion (which took place on the talk page of a user you had never met). Then you made this complaint just 12 minutes after I posted to your talk page. You made your latest complaint just 13 minutes after I posted to your talk page. You must have been logged in a lot today, but you didn't make many edits. User:PaleoNeonate asks good questions. How did you find these things so fast? Please understand that I am acting in good faith. Because to me, this looks suspicious. --Wikiman2718 (talk) 02:01, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to see you go

[edit]

Would you possibly reconsider? I am not an admin so cannot see what your deleted edits were, but we are all volunteers and you are perfectly entitled to edit only occasionally, and for that matter, to edit without logging in so long as it is not to stack the deck in some discussion or evade an editintg restriction, and one of the reasons we have user name registration is to avoid revealing our IPs if we choose not to. In addition, a checkuser categorically denied the allegation of socking made against you. I for one appreciate that you have volunteered here, and hope you will do so again. Yngvadottir (talk) 21:27, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Yngvadottir: This account made an edit to an article, and two to its associated talk page on 5 April 2013. The article was deleted at AfD on 6 January 2014. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:34, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Yngvadottir: Hey, I'm back under a different name (I scrambled the password for atdevel to avoid conflict). I am busy with work, so I'm not sure how much I will edit. But I'm just glad to be here again for now Atdevel2 (talk) 11:08, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
