I plan on writing about various schools that meet the notable criteria.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Academic Leadership Charter School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Comatmebro ~Come at me~ 19:13, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

January 2014[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Sorry I did not read all the guidelines at first. I thought my username should be related if I am writing about a company. Please delete this account entirely.

Accounts cannot be deleted. See WP:UNC.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:35, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I was unaware of prior guidelines and thought a company must verify their articles and be afiliated with an article under their name. I want to create/use an individual account since I now know this is the way to go and it is allowed.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. only (talk) 12:53, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Bjelleklang - talk 08:30, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I understand.

If unblocked, how do you plan to contribute to Wikipedia? Can you give us specific examples please? Bjelleklang - talk 09:16, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to write articles about various schools, particularly charter schools which are notable and working with high needs populations and able to show results and move the charter movement forward, focusing on their models and how success is achieved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Academic Leadership (talkcontribs)

Will Academic Leadership Charter School be your only focus, or will there be other schools you edit about? I also suggest you read Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies). Generally speaking, non-secondary schools are not considered notable unless they clearly meet the guideliens listed there. only (talk) 12:17, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I plan on writing about/editing various schools that are notable/meet the notable criteria.
