Georgia wants to be in Europe. What's the problem with that? They actually have some (small) parts of country located on the European continent, so technically they have a right to call themselves "transcontinental".Keverich1 (talk) 17:28, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe they want, but they aren't. I have quoted a source, there are many others. No part of the country is in Europe, albeit there are some erronous entries in en:WP. --Bachforelle (talk) 18:39, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, you are wrong here. Read this. This article says that some districts of Georgia are actually located in Europe. For instance, Khevsureti is located along both the northern and southern slopes of the Great Caucasus Mountains. Now, if you concider that Caucasus Mountains is the diving line between Europe and Asia, then its nothern slopes should be in Europe. The are legitimate reasons to regard Georgia as a transcontinental country.Keverich1 (talk) 20:53, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This sounds like Spain being African because of Ceuta, or Denmark being in America because of Greenland. Anyhow, I have quoted a source in my edit. --Bachforelle (talk) 07:59, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ceuta and Greenland are islands. Khevsureti is actually connected to the rest of Georgia by land. Speaking about the definition of Europe by Strahlenberg, it is highly plausible that this swedish dude didn't know about the existence of Caucasus Mountains at the time^^Keverich1 (talk) 11:31, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ceuta is not an island. And if you would read in the works of Strahlenberg rather than just claiming something here, you would know that he was in the Caucasus. --Bachforelle (talk) 11:34, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ceuta is separated from the rest of Spain by water, so my point still holds. I have no time to read the works of Strahlenberg, since he has no more authority in this question, than president Saakashvili. Most sources that exist now say that Caucasus is the border between 2 continents.Keverich1 (talk) 12:09, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So reality is, what Micha wants it to be... which is indeed interesting and certainly not WP:NPOV. --Bachforelle (talk) 12:10, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict with above warning) Please do not participate in edit wars, particularly on other editors' talk pages, as you do here[1] at User:Jimbo Wales. Whatever you think of Jimbo's statement that he founded, rather than co-founded, Wikipedia, he is entitled to use his page to express himself. The words there are his to make, not yours to edit. If you believe that his user page is a violation of some policy or guideline you are free to take that up in the appropriate forum, but you can certainly foresee that this issue has come up already and there is not much more one can say. I will restore the old version, if others have not already. Please do not revert again, or this account may be temporarily blocked by an administrator to maintain the stability of the page. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on User:Jimbo Wales. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. He can describe himself however he'd like to. There is no reason for you to be changing this user page. (ec) Not an edit war. This is blatant vandalism, changing somebody else's personal statement.[2] It's also a popular troll meme. I've indeffed this account as a probable sock puppet. Jehochman Talk 17:48, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
